YOUR IMPACT
Are you an experienced electrical engineer passionate about shaping the future of energy? Proxima Fusion is seeking a leader to spearhead the development of electrical systems for stellarator fusion power plants. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in cross-disciplinary teams in fast-paced R&D environments. Experience with high-current power supplies or development of instrumentation equipment is a strong bonus.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Build and test mechanical and electromechanical prototypes from early-stage designs
- Execute rapid prototyping and mechanical assembly trials
- Improve and manage workshop workflows, tooling, inventory, and calibration
- Operate key shop equipment including milling machines, lathes, and test setups
- Work closely with engineering to refine mechanical designs for prototyping and future manufacturability
- Perform goods-in inspection, maintain PPE and tools, and ensure safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient lab and workshop environment
WHO YOU ARE
- Hands-on problem solver with strong craftsmanship, comfortable working independently and collaboratively in workshop environments.
- Proactive and communicative team player, able to work closely with engineers and technicians in dynamic R&D settings.
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious, with a strong focus on quality, precision, and operational safety.
- Adaptable and flexible, thrives under uncertainty and in fast-paced, evolving technical environments.
- Fluent in English and proficient in German
- Qualified technical background (vocational or higher degree); experienced in machining, wiring, assembly, and test equipment.
