The Head of Communications will lead the strategic direction and execution of all communication and marketing efforts at Proxima Fusion. This role demands a holistic approach to enhance the company's brand and effectively communicate its groundbreaking technology to various stakeholders, with an emphasis on press and media relations. The chosen candidate will work closely with the Digital Communications Lead, collaborate with the public policy and government relations team, and support the CEO in investor relations. German language skills are highly advantageous for this role.

If you have:

At least 10-15+ years of experience including senior communications roles, preferably within the technology or energy sector;
Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities;
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and simplify complex technical information;
Experience in media relations, public relations, and crisis communication;
Knowledge of digital tools and strategies, including social media management and content marketing;
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners;
Familiarity with the German language is a huge plus, but not required;
Passion for clean energy and a commitment to Proxima Fusion’s mission;

You will help us with:

Strategic Communications:

Build and maintain relationships with press and media outlets, industry influencers, and key external stakeholders to secure positive coverage and manage the company's public image;
Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to promote Proxima Fusion’s mission and technology;
Craft and disseminate key messages across multiple platforms for a range of audiences, ensuring consistency and alignment with the company's goals;
Handle crisis communications and develop proactive strategies to address potential public relations challenges;
Direct and implement the creation of high-quality content, including press releases, blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, and presentations;
Ensure all content is scientifically accurate, engaging, and tailored to target audiences.

Marketing Efforts:

Design and execute media and marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive engagement with key audiences, including policymakers, partners, and the general public;
Oversee digital communications and digital marketing efforts together with the Digital Communications Lead, including content creation, social media strategy, video production, website management, influencer partnerships, and digital advertising.

Collaboration with Public Policy & Government Relations:

Work closely with the public policy and government relations team to align communication efforts with regulatory and legislative priorities;
Develop communication materials to support policy advocacy and government outreach initiatives.

Event Management:

Plan and execute company events, including press conferences, guest tours, and investor meetings;
Act as company spokesperson when needed, representing Proxima Fusion to press and at industry events, trade shows, and other public forums.
