We’re looking for a Working Student / Intern (all) to support our Machine Learning team in the area of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) for dental and medical applications. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on data annotation, data quality, and understanding how ASR systems are evaluated and improved in production environments.
This role can be performed in a hybrid setup from our offices in Luxembourg or Berlin.
Hours: Flexible (10-20 hours per week)
Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)
- Data Collection: Record, annotate, and review speech and transcript data for medical and dental use cases.
- Annotation Quality: Correct transcripts, mark domain-specific terminology, and ensure high annotation accuracy.
- Quality Control: Apply structured quality checks to annotated datasets.
- Model Evaluation: Support the evaluation of ASR models and their outputs.
- ML Exposure: Learn how ASR and ML systems are validated, measured, and improved in real projects.
- Automation: Help automate repetitive annotation and validation tasks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a production-oriented Machine Learning team.
- Product Impact: Contribute directly to improving a live healthcare product.
- Student Status: Enrolled Master’s student in Computer Science, Engineering, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Language Skills: Full German proficiency, spoken and written.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and care when working with data.
- Data Handling: Comfortable working with structured datasets.
- Programming: Experience with Python.
- ML Foundations: Experience with machine learning or deep learning concepts.
- Medical Domain: Familiarity with medical or dental terminology.
- Annotation Experience: Experience with data annotation or annotation tools.
- ASR Knowledge: Exposure to speech recognition or audio data processing.
- Automation Mindset: Interest in scripting or automating repetitive tasks.
- Hands-on experience with production-grade ASR and machine learning systems.
- A collaborative team that values curiosity, learning, and pragmatic problem-solving.
