Join Reel as Head of Germany to accelerate the renewable energy transition
About Reel
Reel is building Europe’s next-generation renewable energy platform, solving the biggest problem in today’s energy markets: matching renewable supply with demand. We’re creating a new category by combining renewable optimization and electricity supply.
We rethink electricity from first principles to accelerate the shift to a carbon-free energy system.
We close the gap between renewable producers and corporate consumers by enabling companies to move beyond ‘green claims’ and achieve verifiable carbon reductions.
We are positioned to capture a multi-billion-euro opportunity, by solving the supply-demand mismatch between renewable producers and corporate consumers. By tackling this structural gap with a modern platform, Reel is building the commercial category leader in renewable electricity supply and asset monetization.
Join a mission-driven, cross-functional team of builders, operators, and climate experts working to create Europe’s leading platform for renewable energy.
Reel is backed by leading international investors, growing 8x year-on-year, and expanding rapidly across Europe.
Role Purpose
Germany is Reel’s first and most important international market with strong early commercial traction. With live customers, signed assets, and a fast-growing pipeline, we are now looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial leader to take full ownership of Reel’s German business.
As Head of Germany, you will turn our early momentum into category leadership. You will build Reel’s market position from the ground up, shape our commercial footprint, establish all regulatory foundations, hire and lead a local team, and run the German P&L end-to-end. You will define how we win in Europe’s largest and most exciting energy market.
Role Mission and Responsibilities
Your mission will be to help establish Reel as a leading German energy player, scaling to hundreds of customers and building a multi-TWh electricity and direct marketing portfolio.
Your core responsibility will be centered around Reel’s go-to-market in Germany and localize Reel’s strong product portfolio, by having end-to-end responsibility for building the German local team and the German P&L. You can expect heavy support from our trading, tech, and operations team at HQ in Copenhagen. You will report directly to our founder Jon (CEO) and Anders (CCO). Expect a broad and highly impactful variety of responsibilities, including:
Define and own the German go-to-market across regulatory, commercial, and operational dimensions.
Develop and lead strategic partnerships with renewable producers (balancing/direct marketing) and corporate consumers (electricity supply, PPAs, hybrid PPA structures).
Localize and refine Reel’s product and offering, working closely with our tech, trading, and operations teams in Copenhagen.
Build and lead Reel’s German local team, fostering a high-ownership culture with strong commercial execution.
Represent Reel and build partnerships across German institutions, including grid operators, authorities and partners.
This is a broad, high-impact, entrepreneurial leadership role - ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of commercial strategy, execution, and building teams.
What We Look For
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on building. We know exceptional candidates come from different paths. That said, the strongest candidates will ideally bring several of the following:
Proven experience in building a business, market, or venture from scratch, with a strong sense for what good execution looks like.
Deep knowledge of the German energy market, ideally with exposure to Direktvermarktung, PPAs, electricity supply, BRP operations, or grid processes.
Strong ownership, leadership and a bias for action, you move fast, decide clearly, and operate with autonomy.
A highly commercial mindset with the ability to shape market positioning and drive revenue growth.
A strong network and trusted relationships across developers, corporates, grid operators, and other ecosystem stakeholders.
Based in Germany, able to lead the team on the ground while collaborating frequently with HQ (regular visits in Copenhagen).
Fluent in German and English, comfortable navigating technical, commercial, and regulatory topics.
Working at Reel
At Reel, people come first. We value initiative, kindness, and ownership, and create an environment where ambitious work and personal growth go hand in hand.
You’ll join a tight-knit team on an ambitious trajectory, where your impact will be highly visible every single day.
We believe strong teams are built by bringing together different perspectives, backgrounds, and lived experiences.
We balance deep focus with collaboration, and we make sure there’s room for plenty of fun along the way.
What We Offer
Competitive compensation (base + performance bonus).
Warrant/equity program with meaningful upside.
30 days of paid vacation.
Generous parental leave.
Choose your own equipment and setup.
Regular time in Copenhagen for onboarding and team alignment.
