About Us

KONUX is a dynamic and fast-growing technology company that is transforming the way the railway industry works. Our AI-powered solutions empower our customers to make smarter, data-driven decisions, and our culture is fueled by grit, ingenuity, and credibility - we believe that these values are essential to unlocking the potential of technology and making a real impact. At KONUX, we are passionate about driving innovation in the fields of IoT and AI, and we are looking for like-minded individuals to join our team.

Job Description

We are seeking a Validation Engineer for Embedded Systems (m/f/x) to join our cross-functional research and development efforts. Our team - your team - is responsible for developing KONUX industrial-grade IoT sensing technologies, and the embedded systems that satisfy the many needs of our AI applications. We focus on end-to-end engineering, starting with a dream, building prototypes, then developing a full fledged product within a unified scrum team mixing mechanics, electronics, embedded software development and quality assurance. We take pride in cultivating a work environment that favors doing the right thing the right way, and as such consider quality a fundamental discipline in our team. Furthermore, we always encourage creativity, and always strive to innovate by always setting time aside for personal projects, technology explorations, mentorship, and learning opportunities.

If you're a go-getter who's not afraid to think outside the box to elevate your work, your team and your company, we would very much like to meet you. You will be a key driver of our culture, helping to ensure that our values are embedded in everything we do.

Your Impact

  • Together with our two other Embedded Systems QA engineers, you will own, develop and execute the wide variety of automated quality gates and hardware-in-the-loop test campaigns that ensure the quality of our products, and support our continuous integration efforts.
  • You strive to ensure the correct functions of existing and new features, of course, but more importantly you look critically at our team’s work, and when you identify a weakness, you will determine possible root causes and recommend corrective actions. You have unfettered access to our team’s collective expertise, and we trust you’ll consult us often.
  • You'll be a focus point of all our research and new hardware development efforts, where prototyping and feasibility studies requires extensive cross-functional knowledge and critical thinking to review, integrate and validate multiple technical domain’s design decisions impacting a product (which might even be incomplete during early stages of R&D).
  • You will drive the implementation of unit tests and integration tests just as much as system tests, working with our product manager, and with our engineers to identify not only what to test, but how to best test it as well.
  • Finally, our validation and verification infrastructure is the result of our QA engineers’ dreams for a best-in-class scalable framework that they have built brick by brick. We expect you to bring your dreams with you, so we can work on them together.

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Have

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related
  • Willingness to collaborate with other disciplines such as electronics design as well as firmware development in order to build the best industrial IoTs the railway industry has ever seen
  • Ability to solve complex problems, break them down into communicable chunks, and are ready to tackle challenges across different technological domains, even outside of embedded system design
  • Be a team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • You have min. 5 years of experience in developing Python applications, tests and documentation (PyTest, Coverage, Sphinx)
  • Experience with state-of-the-art CI/CD tools (Jenkins, BitBucket Pipelines, GitLab, etc..) and concepts (emulation, HIL)
  • Good English communication
