Job Description
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/x) to join our team of innovators. In this role you will be responsible to install our infrastructure and keep it in perfect shape, to continuously develop and monitor it in order to provide the best experience to our customers. You will closely collaborate with your engineering counterparts in Munich, as well as with external service providers. You will assist other departments in solving technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and networking. Ideal candidates learn and adapt quickly, and will be able to use every tool at their disposal to understand and effectively tackle hard problems. As a tech-savvy professional you are curious about new digital technologies and aspire to combine usability with robustness and efficiency.
Your Impact
- As part of a cross-functional team you collaborate with Frontend and Backend Engineers and provision the necessary infrastructure for new features being developed.
- You also collaborate with other DevOps Engineers to build and maintain our CI/CD pipelines used by all our development teams. You use Bitbucket, Jenkins, Sonar, Artifactory, and Spinnaker and you ensure high standardization and availability of all pipelines.
- You continuously monitor and tune configurations to optimize the performance and costs of our system.
- You review and improve security features of our environments.
- You build infrastructure as code and foster code reviews to ensure alignment as well as reliable and reproducible changes to our environments.
- You collaborate with other teams to improve the deployment process and general operation of our system.
To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Have To:
- 5+ years experience in DevOps Engineering
- Experience using monitoring tools ( DataDog, Splunk or similar)
- Demonstrable experience with container concepts (LXD, Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Swarm), with cloud infrastructure orchestration (e.g. Mesos, DC/OS, Marathon), with Deployment Automation & Orchestration and extensive knowledge of AWS/GCP (EKS, RDS, Networking, IAM, Lambda, GlueJob, EMR…)
- Strong system-level troubleshooting skills
- Good English communication skills, German is a plus
