Mission Brief

As a Working Student in the CNC Manufacturing area, you will support the Production Execution team with digital tool development and administrative tasks. Your primary mission will be to design, optimize and maintain internal tools that enable efficient planning, controlling and documentation of CNC operations. Through your work, you will gain deep insights into high-precision machining processes, production workflows and the operational routines of a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

  • Development of internal CNC management tools (Excel/VBA/HTML)
  • Automation of reporting workflows and creation of user-friendly interfaces
  • Support in digitalization of CNC processes and data flows
  • Preparation and maintenance of CNC production dashboards
  • Assistance with administrative tasks (documentation, data entry, version handling)
  • Participation in process-improvement activities within the CNC area
  • Collaboration with CNC teams to understand operational needs and translate them into tool features
  • Support daily operational routines to gain hands-on experience in CNC production environments

More specifically, you will:

  • Develop and maintain digital tools using Excel, VBA and HTML to support CNC shopfloor management
  • Analyze existing planning & documentation processes and contribute improvement ideas
  • Prepare data, reports and dashboards to support daily production operations
  • Support the CNC management team in administrative and documentation tasks
  • Assist in collecting, structuring and validating CNC production data
  • Collaborate closely with Production Supervisors, Machine Operators and Process Experts
  • Support ad-hoc tasks within the CNC department as needed

Qualification Checklist

Education

  • Enrolled student in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field Experience
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, structured workbooks)
  • Practical knowledge of VBA programming for automation and tool creation
  • Basic to advanced skills in HTML / Web interface creation
  • Analytical understanding of manufacturing- or technical processes
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into functional digital tools Soft Skills
  • Structured, reliable and solution-oriented workstyle
  • Strong analytical thinking and quick comprehension
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to learn production processes
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Languages
  • Good command of English
  • German skills are a plus for daily shopfloor interactions

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with production environments or CNC technology
  • Knowledge of SQL, Power Automate, Power Apps or similar digitalization tools
