As Team Lead Regional Operations, you'll be instrumental in executing operational excellence, ensuring quality, safety, and delivering an exceptional customer experience – on every Flix ride. Your role is pivotal in setting and maintaining our standards as we expand. We're seeking an experienced leader to own and shape the operations workstream, driving our organization to new heights in India.

Your Tasks – Paint the world green

As the Team Lead Operations for FlixBus India, your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks aimed at building and optimizing scalable processes for efficient operations. Here's a detailed breakdown of your key tasks:

  • Develop and Motivate Your Ops Team: Develop and nurture a robust and steadily growing operations team focused on ramping up FlixBus operations in India. Foster a motivating work environment to ensure high team morale and productivity.
  • Build and Manage Ground Operations Team: Establish and manage the ground operations team responsible for onboarding bus operators' staff. Implement daily monitoring protocols to ensure the quality and safety of operations output.
  • Establish Operations Hub: Build an Operations hub from the ground up, working closely with support from our HQ in Germany. Strive for operational and customer excellence by implementing effective processes and protocols.
  • Develop Relationships with Bus Partners: Cultivate and maintain long-lasting relationships with bus partners to enhance collaboration and strengthen the FlixBus network in India.
  • Manage Operations KPIs: Take ownership of Operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implement processes to consistently achieve and exceed targets. Create quarterly, half-yearly and annual operational plans for the Operations teams.
  • Onboard New Bus Partners and Launch New Lines: Lead the onboarding process for new bus partners, ensuring a seamless integration into the FlixBus network. Take charge of launching new bus lines, coordinating with various stakeholders for successful implementation.
  • Run Operations and Manage Quality Standards: Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Identify and Mitigate Risks: Proactively identify risks that could potentially disrupt operations and develop effective solutions to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the rest of the team to analyze data and processes, challenging the status quo, and consistently striving for improvement.
  • Drive FlixBus Launch in India: Be a driving force in the launch of FlixBus in India, contributing to the shaping of the future of transportation through innovation and enthusiasm.
  • Leverage Data for Improvement: Utilize data analytics to deeply understand operational performance, define relevant KPIs, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Automate Processes and Share Best Practices: Design and build scalable processes, automate low-value tasks, and exchange best practices with international counterparts to optimize operations and unit economics.
  • Champion our Fleet Transformation Strategy: Be at the forefront of our alternative drive pilots and shape Flixbus India’s Fleet Transformation strategy

Your Profile – Ready to hop on board

  • Min 10 years of experience in Operations in a start-up / scale-up or growing a business in the the transportation/mobility/delivery/logistics space or other relevant experience.
  • Experience in leading a growing team, setting the right expectations and objectives and driving the team toward success
  • Expertise in and good knowledge of the consumer tech landscape in India
  • Strong appetence for operational and tech topics, ability to juggle multiple priorities at the same time
  • Analytical & critical thinking and experience with data-driven decision-making, ability to deal with data and exercise good judgment in ambiguous circumstances
  • Ability to switch from strategic / conceptual thinking to pragmatic / operational topics, not afraid of getting your hands dirty
  • Empathetic when dealing with different people; able to quickly build relationships with external and internal partners
  • Great business acumen and judgment. Comfortable dealing with financial information and thoughtful about overall strategic choices. Ability to seize and prioritize opportunities based on feasibility and potential
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and pro-activity
  • High adaptability to change and ability to execute quickly.
  • A proven track record of strong results in a similar role in the transport and/or bus industry is a strong plus
  • P&L Management experience is a plus
  • Readiness for travelling when needed
