We're looking for a driven Senior Backend Java Engineer to join our Operations Platform team.

Our self-organized and cross-functional team is architecting, building and running tools for Operations Department stakeholders and users to have seamless and consistent user experience across various products that there are in place (the platform).

Currently we are a Product Owner, 2 Senior Backend Engineers, 2 Senior Frontend Engineers, Senior UX designer and, as a team, we fully own the product line and the architectural and technical decisions. We build our product end to end and can leverage cutting-edge technologies for our solutions.

Our current technology stack includes:
Java, Spring
Infrastructure: Kubernetes, AWS, Docker, Terraform
Databases: AWS RDS (MySQL), AWS DocumentDB (MongoDB), AWS OpenSearch (Elasticsearch)
Alerting and Monitoring: Rollbar, Datadog, Kibana, PagerDuty
Queues and events: producing/consuming various events in Java via Kafka, AWS SQS
Testing frameworks: JUnit
Emailing: AWS SES
CI/CD: Gitlab CI
IDE: IntelliJ Idea

Your Tasks – Paint the world green

• You will be part of a self-organized, cross-functional team owning the operation management and traffic control products and will hence directly contribute to the success of the business;
• You and your team will place our users at the center when developing solutions together;
• You drive the development process using an Agile environment;
• You will be able to design new products from scratch and frequently deliver new versions of existing products, using continuous integration and automation;

Your Profile – Ready to hop on board

• 5+ years experience working as a Java Backend Engineer
• Strong experience with Spring framework, NoSQL and SQL databases, and message queue systems (e.g Kafka);
• Strong understanding of software development best practices, including code quality, testing, and deployment;
• Experience with microservices architecture and related technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes;
• Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools (e.g Terraform, DataDog);
• You believe in "You build it, you run it!";
• Experience with distributed systems development;
• Upper-intermediate level of English or higher;
• You enjoy working within an agile setup.
