Your Role
As our Head of Accounting, you are responsible for leading and expanding FINN’s accounting team in Germany, consisting of 8 talented professionals. Your role involves overseeing all daily accounting activities and our monthly and yearly closing under German GAAP (HGB). In your role, you constantly question our existing accounting setup and push automation wherever possible. You become the go-to-expert for all accounting-related topics and work closely with our CFO, external partners and authorities on a daily basis.

Your Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for leading and growing the accounting team in Germany and for supporting each team member's professional growth.
  • You implement best-in-class accounting processes exploiting the possibilities of our new ERP system SAP S/4HANA and additional tools to make our accounting team as efficient as possible and to ensure full compliance with the latest regulations in Germany. Here you work closely with our Product Managers and Software Engineers to push automation wherever possible.
  • You oversee our general ledger accounting and ensure that the monthly and yearly closing for all German entities are quality-checked and submitted on time. In your role, you focus on improving the cycle time of our monthly closing processes and increasing the accuracy of our financial statements.
  • You oversee our asset accounting, accounts receivable accounting and accounts payable accounting on a daily basis. Together with the other Departments and our Software Engineers you streamline the upstream processes (e.g. invoice-to-cash, procure-to-pay processes) to reduce the manual workload and improve the incoming data quality.
  • You become an integral part of our international accounting organization by preparing individual and consolidated financial statements for the German sub-group. You work closely with Group Reporting in the preparation of consolidated financial statements under IFRS and in the definition and implementation of accounting policies.

Your Profile

  • You hold a university degree in Accounting or a finance related field of study. Professional certifications are a major plus (Wirtschaftsprüfer, Steuerberater or CFA).
  • You have 5+ years of relevant work experience in Accounting, Controlling, and/or Audit with at least 2 years of leadership experience.
  • You are an Accounting expert with profound knowledge of HGB, StG and IFRS.
  • You are experienced in leading a team on a daily basis and possess excellent communication skills to excite others.
  • You have a proven track record in project and stakeholder management.
  • You demonstrate a structured and organized work style, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently.
  • You maintain great attention to detail while also keeping sight of the big picture.
  • You are proficient in implementing automated accounting processes. Prior working experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Fluent in German and English.
